My name is Árni, and I’m a driving instructor at UTIADAKA.IS – but my path here wasn’t straight; it was full of twists, turns, and the smell of gasoline.

I’m a certified car builder and have worked in car repair, maintenance, and rebuilding. I’ve always been fascinated by cars with horsepower — and how they work. I’ve also worked in sales, and the best part of that was meeting people, because people are wonderfully unique. When I decided to become a driving instructor, I saw an opportunity to combine my knowledge of cars with meaningful human interaction.

 

For me, driving lessons are not just about passing a test; they’re about building confidence, a sense of responsibility, and a positive connection to driving. I make it a priority to approach each student with interest and respect — because everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace.

 

I believe it’s important to create a safe and encouraging learning environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and grow — whether you’re learning how to start a car for the first time or fine-tuning your turns for the driving test.
